Below are my references, colors and textures and my sexy model. I did a mashup of various figures and hair and things, then "painted" over top with various photoshop tools. I do a lot of smudging to get the softness, and a lot of dodging and burning and color sampling from the original photography to get more spontaneous color combinations.
The human eye tends to guesstimate color, rounding it down to the lowest common denominator, and most people don't notice all the subtleties in shadows, hair, irises, flesh...a photograph catches all that and hilights it, and I don't mind taking advantage of the insight.
This project took two days to complete. My favorite part is the hose. I love the little scalloped edge, for some reason. I threw in that solarized shadow to make some kind of statement...it's open to interpretation because it was an accident, but I see it as a ghost-image. Maybe she's of two minds, she does these naughty things for a sense of sexual empowerment, but something gets lost on the way to heaven.
